FINISHED MOULDINGS

We carry a wide range of finished mouldings covering all price ranges.

PLAIN WOODS

These include ash, pine, oak and obeche. These can be sanded and stained to a colour of your choice. They can also be clear waxed which enhances the grain or we can do a limed wax finish.

ALUMINIUM

These are cut to size and come in a wide range of profiles and colours. They are ideal for photographs and certificates.

CONSERVATION MOUNTBOARDS

The function of the mountboard is to distance the artwork from the glass and to enhance the picture. Photographs have a tendency to stick to the glass if in direct contact causing irreversible damage.

We use Bainbridge Alphamat Artcare mountboards. Their unique patented molecular trap technology collects airborne acid gases and stops them from attacking the artwork. The boards keep their colour and the bevels stay white. We carry a wide range of colours some with coloured bevels.

MUSEUM BOARDS

For museum standard we can get Bainbridge Alpharag Artcare boards which are 100% cotton rag. Both Alpharag and Alphamat boards come in a range of thicknesses.

CLEARCOLOUR PLUS UV GLASS

Ultra violet can be very damaging to artwork and over a period of time it can cause fading and discolouration. Damage that is irreversible. Valuable artwork should never be hung in direct sunlight and light levels kept to a minimum. ClearColour glass is a high quality speciality coated glass which offers a high UV protection blocking 90%+ of the harmful rays. It is also designed to reduce reflection to less than 1% to give the perfect view of your framed image.

REFLECTION CONTROL GLASS

This is a glass that is finely etched on one side and is ideal for controlling reflection. It does not block UV.

PERSPEX

Perspex is a lighter alternative to glass and is unbreakable. It is ideal for childrens bedrooms and public places. This is also available in reflection control and UV blocking.

MIRROR GLASS

We can supply mirrors with a moulding of your choice. Mirror glass can be plain or bevelled. Bevelled mirrors come in set sizes but we can bevell a custom made size at an extra cost.
